New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed about 6 hours ago ( with a thanks to WEBellSystemChristian for the heads up ) in a 7 day auction with no reserve starting at $19.99 is another WE 205 (seller claim) 208 Key Set in basic black with an E1 handset and what seems to be the original line cord. The seller only provided a modest array of fuzzy, poorly lit external photos. Within the first 5 hours of the listing, the phone attracted 2 buyers placing 2 bids driving the price up to $67.00. We saw one of these sell a couple of months ago in Auction Contest #224 for a nice price, but the photos in that auction were much better. So, the question once again is how much will this poorly presented phone sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE: we will use a $5 gap rule between guesses again to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $5 away from prior guesses for this contest.

The seller listed it as an "Vtg WESTERN ELECTRIC 205 E5 Type Multi-Line Telephone Set- LQQK! RARE!" with the item condition as "used" and "This is a very nice and rare WE 205 E5 Multi-line Telephone Set! 1930's! Five opaque buttons that read; 1(red), 2(green), H(off white), L(off white)and B9dark brown). All buttons are good, but a few seem to stick. Cloth cord on handset has a little wear on the end and the cloth on the bottom is worn. It has the WE E1 Handset with the "Bullet" type transmitter! What you see is what you will get! It also has the WE #4 Dial and rural dial plate! There is use but in good condition. Used by the BELL SYSTEM and made by Western Electric. Please look at the pictures, as it is part of the description. NO BREAKS NO CRACKS What you see is what you will get!" and with the auction listing description saying "Up for auction/sale is for: 1) vintage, RARE! WESTERN ELECTRIC 205 E5 Multi-Line Telephone Set. With the WE #4 Dial and rural dial plate. With the WE E1 Handset with the "Bullet" type transmitter. It has five opaque buttons that work but a few seem to stick a little. 1930's! THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL GET. See above description and photos. For Parts. AS IS. It has been used but in good shape. This type of telephone is one of the hardest type to find! Marked on the back side of the neck: E5! NO ISSUES! NO CRACKS! NO BREAKS! Please examine the pictures, read the above description and ask all questions prior to placing a bid. If you are collecting a WE early multi-line type telephones, then this is for you. It may need to be cleaned! These were made for the BELL SYSTEM and other independent telephone companies, by WESTERN ELECTRIC. This is being sold AS IS and as found."
