I don't know how telephone collectors feel, but if this were a vintage radio, we'd GET THE ROP........

More gorgeous phones to go.
Having talked to these artist on ARF, they are not melicious people, they do believe they are sharing a talent, and do not understand the mindset of the Phone or radio collector, in their mind, they are rescuing a certain item, from a certain landfill destiny.
I can understand how they think, but looking at the poor phone, which fate is worse ?
However, I'm not partial to beige, push button wall phones, so maybe in this case it is an improvement, at least I can't see the phone anymore, and she says it does still work.  Maybe there is an upside to this afterall ?
Your better half might even use a vintage phone that looked like this one.

Wow... Ya know, when they do this to radios, at least we can see that they're going for a look.  We may not like it, but we can understand it.  What this person was going for though, is absolutely beyond me.  What a mess.  She should have her Martha Stewart Club card revoked.

Yeah this has been my experience with folks who are not of the collector mindset.  They are nice folks, usually, who think they are rescuing an item by "revitalizing" it.  In this case no major crime against history seems to have been committed as I'm guessing that 2500 under there is nothing special.  Alas when they get ahold of something of real value however...
