I've not had a phone with the confidencer installed, but a friend of mine gave me a new one, still in the box.  He retired from AT&T in 1984 and, as he told me, was directed to clean out his truck at the end of his last day.  So he did-- into his truck!  The one I wish I had thought to get from him-- he had a model that would fit the F1.
