Anyone got a spare £12000 for this WE - if it's real that is!

Nice phone, but a bit pricey for me!
I've no idea if it's genuine or worth anything like £12000 (circa $15,000).

Looks homemade to me, albeit very well made!  Rather "modern" (USA) magneto it seems.

Is that a weather vane on top?  Oh, wait!  Never mind, I just realized that's probably the transmitter!

Do you have the seller's eBay description?

The eBay listing has been removed. Can't see it anymore so hope you captured it and can post it.

Photos are out of context without it.

It is real . I have seen this in a vintage source. Will try to find it. WE but not USA built.

Oops - looks like I missed a digit from the URL - now fixed in my original post.

The description is:
Please see photos
!  Make payment only after contacting me.
Thanks

Which is why I didn't post it earlier, as it doesn't tell you anything.

that whole deal smells fishy... maybe transfer of illegal money? The seller has sold other absurdely high priced items in the past, and got freaky good reviews for those deals.

Thanks.

Actually, the absence of a description is informative in its own way.

Last old phone he sold, a Waden, sold for £1,200 and if too had a short, cryptic description. "Waden phone. Welcome and any questions"

Caveat emptor!

here's another one with hearty price expectations (if that term is understood in English ;) ). But the stuff he sold in the past wasn't way overpriced.

This looks like an original WE "Swing Arm" to me - except for the receiver.

Others, including Ericsson, also made them. The WE version was used by the National Telephone Co in the UK.

Many say it was made by BWE but it was, in fact, made by BTMC.

Down to 7100 EUR meanwhile.
He's got another nice one, a red Trommelwähler. 2450,- is a bargain, considering that the handset is almost perfect ;-)
But sure you do not see these every day.

The listing was ended by the seller because of an error.  Could there have been at least one too many zeros in the price?
