Title: 132-B Notchless Dial Plate
Post by: TelePlay on August 20, 2015, 06:32:19 PM
Was anyone else watching this auction?

It started at $9.99 in a 5 day no reserve auction. It attracted 8 bidders placing 9 bids. Two snipes with 6 seconds to go sent the price from $88 to $357 with the second high snipe being $362.

Was it worth it or was it a case of two buyers really wanting the plate and both putting in a high bid to make sure they won the plate, with the winner paying a price for that tactic?

For that price I would expect the #2 dial.......plus the entire stick. I have seen them go for $100 in this fine condition, but in my opinion, in was way overpriced. Happy Seller  8) ..Doug

I wonder how much a standard dial 20AL in fair condition with an original #2 dial would be worth parted out? We already have set in stone the price of the dial plate alone, but what about the fingerwheel, fingerstop, mounting screws, dial casing with mech, and other basic stick parts? I bet it would be worth right around $1000, not forgetting that parting phones out is pretty horrific IMHO! :o
