Wow - that is OLD! Any idea what year it's from? What does it use to record on?

Id say late 60s/early 70s
Not received it yet but im guessing its reel to reel tape(It looks about the same size as a tape recorder).
Will be interesting to play with at any rate!

P.S the linecord appears to be part coiled- the same as on a Trimphone and it appears to be attached to a GPO plug 505 and matching socket. This was used from the 60s until approx 1981 when the current BT plug/socket replaced it.

Love the fact the linecord point on the machine is marked G.P.O rather than line or similar

It'd certainly be interesting to see the insides of that thing once you get it, can't be many like it left these days... :)

There were answering machines in the mid 50's from the ads I've seen, but I've never seen a real live one.  Yours looks pretty old, I'd guess more like 1960 give or take a few years.  Cool find.
