Seller says this is AE and parts of it have been changed out incorrectly.
I can see the end cap on the receiver is wrong (British), cables wrong. The base has been (re)covered in a cord fabric. Having never actually seen one of these I'm not sure about this.
Opinions please. Real or repro?
These are the best photos I could get today.
Not an AE .Look like it is most likely a WE repro with an AE dial

It's a "Franken-Phone"; thrown together with a mix of (mostly) repro parts and MAYBE an original/real stem and/or dial base, but I doubt it.
Righty-ho, here is 'Frank' in pieces.
All opinions welcome on whether any of this is real or not, in particular the base, baseplate, and stem.
Thanks!!!!!

The baseplate and stem...
(Additional photo of writing on reply 6, below)
The transmitter on this is marked STC, but the rest of it (heavy Brass) is unmarked..... Repro?
The endcap is genuine, British, the rest... Probably Repro.... ?
The last piece, plus additional photo of writing on base.
The parts appear to be reproduction . The faceplate has no holes to mount the transmitter bridge. The patent dates on the base are uneven, WE would have done a better job. Why did they paint the inside of the base?. The transmitter cup looks strange. The switch pile-up is rather crude looking compared to a real one and the rivit on the hook stands out. The Receiver might be a real one with the hard rubber removed but the cap looks wrong with multiple holes.Parts copy WE not AE
Thanks for the fast reply.

I've taken what I needed from it. :)
Agree that it's pretty much all repro.
Even the receiver cap is from a GPO 332 and has had its sides turned down to make it look ok on the Bell shell (which might be a real one less it's Ebonite covering).
I had a similar one some years ago and once all stripped to brass and polished was actually quite attractive.
If you want a pretty candlestick to use I think these are not so bad as you won't worry about it getting damaged if knocked over etc.
:)
Check out this website on how to spot a fake candlestick phone.
