Wooden Pyramid Phone

Screenshots taken from the online auction.

Doesn’t appear to have a makers mark.

Just a guess, but maybe a one-off fabrication, with wooden switch-hook, AE dial + handset?
Letters/numbers appear to be applied transfers/decals, over-varnished?

I saw this auction, My thought was it could of been made by Paul Nelson Industries or a similar company.

Basically small batch designer telephone.
Just a guess,
Jim

I have owned and sold several over the years, including the model with attached lamp. I don't recall seeing any maker identification, but did find a reference on page 14 of this catalog in the TCI Library:

Thanks for adding the link Paul. That little sales catalogue is really worth a look through. Telephone models I have seen before and plenty that I haven’t.

Here’s what it had to say about the Pyramid telephone:
’#8070 WOODEN PYRAMID The Egyptian look is "IN''. This phone provides a focal point for the new decorator look’.

You're welcome. An interesting "some day" project would be to annotate some of the retail catalogs of that era to note the manufacturers of the phones listed. This catalog includes Teleconcepts, Northern Electric, DecoTel/ATC, ITT, Telcer, AE, North/Ericsson, and others.

Wasn’t that about the time when the King Tut exhibit was touring through the US?
