Trying to identify this dial for Wiring purposes

From what I understand (and that's admittedly sketchy) certain regions got BPO dials, while most others got standard NE dials.  From what I've seen come up on ebay, it seems like most of the BPO dials come from Alberta and BC.

So I guess, depending on region, neither one is more original or correct that the other.  Of course, to most Bell System purists, the NE dial would be preferred.

I agree that it looks "AE-esque" (with the worm driven governor). I've never seen an AE dial, though, that had the worm shaft partially buried in the dial plate like that. Nor have I ever seen that style of fingerstop.

A BPO dial seems to me like a very viable option.

No doubt it's a BPO. I haven't looked at the link yet, but I'd bet the wiring would be the same as an AE. Even the cross bar connection between both terminals is the same.

Sorry.  Bad joke punchline:

"I have to arrest you for transporting gulls across sedated lions for immoral wiring purposes."  Sorry.  Bad Joke.

That's funny!

Sadly however, my students would never get it as they simply lack the language skills.
