Hey all, new guy here

I saved this phone from a church that used it to broadcast their radio services. Not exactly sure how they had it configured but there is a phono(RCA) out on the back, an "Off" and "Transmit" switch on the base (The switch sent the signal to the RCA connector) and a momentary switch on the handset. I disconnected the switch on the handset and wired it up correctly (I think) but, the base is a bit more troublesome.  I traced the 'modifications' on the base and disconnected those but, can't figure out how to correctly connect everything inside. All of the wiring diagrams for the 500 that I found were screw posts and these are tabs which don't seem to exactly line up with the screw posts on the WE but, are very similar.

The phone has a dialtone when connected but, upon dialing, nothing happens...it just continues to sound the dialtone.

Here are 2 of the many possibilities:

If you are not on a real (landline) telephone line, then it may not recognize rotary dials.

The green and blue dial wires should be connected blue to F and green to RR and there should be a second wire (from the switch that hangs up the phone) on F.

The landline is real and a pulse tone will call out from the line (Tested with TS21 test set).

The phone will ring in and the handset works fine, hanging up works, it just won't dial out. It just keeps sending the dialtone as the dial is rotated.

Any other thoughts? Or, any specific wiring diagrams for this board?

Thanks for the reply @poplar1. Checked them and they are already connected...

GOT IT!

Okay, This will probably NEVER be the issue for anyone else (why?*) but, I got it fixed. *Why? The Green and blue on the dial was shorted out...that way the phone COULD NOT be used to dial out at the church, I presume. After checking everything mentioned and, testing the F-to-RR short, I found solder wrapped around the terminals (obviously intentionally) on the dial. Removed that, removed the jumper I placed, and she works.

Again, this probably will not be an issue for anyone else but, I hate people who pose a question on forums and never come back to revel their verdict. Thanks for your help and hopefully I can acquire a few more of these relics!
