Custom kitchen wall phone.

This phone was pulled out of the kitchen wall of
an apartment house in Boston that was being torn down.

I've never seen anything like it, so, I thought maybe some
other phone enthusiasts might find it interesting.

The large round structure in the back is a spring loaded
spool, with a wire to the handset. It retracts the wire after
you hang up.

this is a W.E. 750 panel phone. when they pulled it, they left the mounting box in the wall. it would be a challenge to find the mounting box now.... these were common in certain commercial installations.... apartments too!
