No it wasn't and I still haven't had a chance to restore it.

Good grief. And more.
Sargeguy, did the seller know what she had, bless her. That's a lot of money.

The seller had no idea, she said that the phone came out of her childhood home in Andover, MA and that she cut the cord off the back because it was "hanging down". She did not ask me to make an offer, she set the price.  Once I paid her I did not linger very long to chat.

Interesting - that's the same phone that sold two weeks earlier.  Maybe seller cancelled the earlier sale and then relisted.

They are one year apart.  It looks like a different mouthpiece, maybe the seller had a pair of them?

No French phone in the trio, as you prob know, the phone on the left is Danish.
Fuzzy pic so can't see the dial centre, but sometimes the make is written there.

Your right, one year apart.  The picture in the 2014 sale is the same picture in the 2015 sale.  The $4k sale must have fallen through in 2014 then relisted in 2015  Odd.

"French" phone refers to the style.  Here in the USA Belgian fries are "French fries" and German Toast is "French Toast", so it stands to reason that a Danish phone is a "French" phone.  It is marked "Kjobenhavns Telefon Aktieselskab" on the bottom and is missing the receiver cap.

I see that the base is different from mine, it is cylindrical while mine is bell-shaped.
