I tried researching this, but, don't know what to look for. Sorry if this issue has been addressed.

Working on an AE50 phone, which is like the AE40. Can get dial tone, can ring, can dial out. But, when I answer the phone, I hear my voice back through my own handset. I don't think the other person can hear me.
Does anyone have any clues?
THanks,

nto,

First, check to make sure that the handset wires are connected correctly.  Secondly, check that the capacitor (condenser) is properly connected.  If the capacitor is not connected, or it is bad, you might hear too much sidetone.

Larry--Thanks! I thought I had it wired correctly, but, alas, I didn't! So, now it works! Yippee.
Thank you.
