Title: GEC England find....Not sure what they called it???
Post by: axil on October 19, 2012, 11:29:44 PM
I picked this up at a garage sale last weekend and my research has come up empty as to what this old phone was called.
It's bakelite, made by GEC in England.
I figured switchboard/receptionist or console would find me something to compare it with but so far no luck.
Has 2 rows of transfer buttons (20 total)
I'm sure someone here will know the scoop on this.

It's a part of the GEC intercommunication telephone system:

According to the info there, it's a 20-Line substation... :)

probably more likely to be for this system

but easy to tell if it has lamps or not.

fairly common - they do come up occasionally on ebay, and my local museum has one that was used in a local department store.

thx...yup its' the IT 3103 cuz the cradle is the same and the handset will sit either way.
I found one on ebay although not as good condition as mine went for $23.

I might just list in my store and/or list it on ebay($1 NR) and sell it untested.

or you could buy a 2nd one and wire them up together.
