I found this 302 at a yard sale this morning for $10, I didn't even try to talk him down. It's the closest thing to a birthday phone I've found yet, my birthday is April 9 1948. It's filthy but in good condition, even the bottom. all dates accept line & handset cords match. Dial=3/48, Induction coil=1/48, Ringer=3/48, Base=3/48, 2/16/48 (2-16-48-8or3), Handset cord=55, Line cord=58, Outside of base=R559. I love these phones.

Cool! Good deal. The R559 is the refurb date. That was probably when the cords were replaced. Close to the end of the run for the 302.

There was an old number card under the newer one stuck on to the plastic cover. My phone number was ALpine when I was a kid in San Jose CA. I remember when we got stickers to put on the dial when we changed from ALpine to 25 & added an area code. the area code on the sticker on this phone looks like 268? 265? 263? Was there an ALpine phone number in Wisconsin? It's always fun when there's an old number card under the newer one.
