This is an example of a Fiber Optic stripper - a Proskit 9PK-326 Stripper. It will precisely strip 1.6 to 3.00 mm jackets, 600 to 900 um buffer coatings and 250 um glass fiber. It is ROHS compliant and IS9001 certified. It has an adjustable hex stop to provide a precise match to the cable you are stripping resulting in a nick free strip.

Of course, there are many other brands as good or better, but this is one in reach of the hobbyist which does an acceptable job.. You might not be using fiber yet, but in the near future, a knowledge of fiber and basic fiber tools will be necessary..
