Of course, my favorite is the one I bought:

Vintage BAKELITE Art Deco Ivory Rotoary Telephone

First, there's not a drop of Bakelite in the whole thing as far as I know, and "rotoary"?! It was spelled differently in the description: "rotaray" And one final touch, the construction of the set was credited to "Western Eletronics". Maybe they were confusing it with "Elephonics"? Elephino. I'm just glad I have it.

Adam

I just remembered another frequent misspelling: bakerlite

Also, describing anything old and plastic as bakelite.

Actually, a bakerlite is that bulb-shaped thing that illumimates the inside the oven when you open the door.

OK.  This one takes the cake.  A phone was just posted to eBay with the title including "NORTHORNE TALACOM".

If that wasn't bad enough, the description includes this text:

"I HOCKED THE PHIONE UP AND TESTED IT"

Ewwww.

Hmmm...  I wonder if he tried to  hang it on the wall, or just plopped it down on a table???  ???

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I like this one for a Model 500 Deck phone:

We just had a new deck built on the back of the house, this would be perfect!

Plus it is an "American Deck Phone" that is cleary stamped on the bottom "Made in Canada" ???

Personally, my favorite is "Rotary Dail Phone".  I asked a seller what a Dail was and he said "the thing you turn!"

Where is that Handset Cord "off to"....the sideway's wall jack maybe rather than the handset cord jack in the front of the sideway's phone?
