I know what a 1243 is, but a 1244? Candlestick replacement, but with a dial? Empty inside, this guy was never used, I get DT but that's it. Dial is not wired. Perfect paint and perfect Bakelite handset. Cords are a little stiff from inactivity. Labels are still there. It felt light when I moved it, now I know why....Doug

Doug, you sure do find them in pristine, like new condition, are you using a TARDIS? :)
Here is the @1949 catalog page for the 1244-W

Bruce....I bought this and and equally nice manual set about 20 years ago from the same person. They were dusty but you could tell the paint was good. I had no idea until I got them home.

I wonder how the dial made its way into this set?

Even 20 years ago, Metal SCs got no respect $8 for the dial and $5 for the manual set...took $10 for both.

It has been sitting on a shelf and I noticed how light it was. Didn't notice it years ago when I bought it. Blame it on the metal set.  ::)...many thanks for the catalogue....Doug
