I wanted to update this thread with a recent find

This is so similar to the original pics posted here that it must have been a GTE/AE  design.

This one however looks like soeone later hacked in modular connectors and later possible swapped the handset?

Anyone recognize this handset?

I have my doubts that GTE_AE had anything to do with this set. The hook ,gongs and back plate are AE. That handset looks similar to the one that WE used on their similar wooden wall sets

Yes , if you look at the pics on the auction page it looks like someone did a bad hack job on the modular connector, probably so they could use this handset.. I can see the similarity in the phone in Original post an this one though , although one is Touchtone and one is Rotary.
