Where's the instructions?
You can't expect the youth of today to know that it'll only work if the string is kept taught.
;)

I doubt most would even recognize the sign...  ???

Does the phone work, or does it have a sorry out if service sticker on it..  ;)

After seeing the above photo on this thread, I had that same conversation today after telling a youngster about tin can telephones.

I'm now instructed to save two empty baked bean cans so I can make one of these to prove that they really 'can' ;D work.

As if everyone didn't think me loopy enough already. Just hope no one walks past whilst I'm yelling into the thing!!  :o

ETA ...and did you know A and B do not have to be in a straight line for it to function. More tin can phone fun and facts here than most of us would ever want to know:  ;D

I have a vintage string phone toy in my collection.

Jim Stettler

There were "real" string phones in the 1800's.
Here is one example:
You live, You learn,
You die, you forget it all.

Doug, you must have jumped into the wayback machine to find those LoL
I remember that type of toy...D^#n I am getting old...

Just got them to be honest, they were delivered on Monday.   :)

Hmm, must be  a throw back.
I played with similar toys when I was a kid, back in the $@'S.
One of those space toys, I think.???
