Ok, now try this with a modern phone. Use a CS phone to kill someone, then make a call on it. Scroll up to scene #6:18

Clearly a scene that won't work with an iPhone.

Who is Henry Dreyfuss?

That hurts.

I love telephones and movies.

I think Hobie was just joking with his question.  At least I hope so...... :)

I only meant to point out that on Wikipedia they depict the I-Phone and the 302 telephone, without mentioning the designers.

BTW, this gent has uploaded many of the Untouchable episodes. Thing is, there is rarely anything but W.E. CS phones. Though one episode had what appeared to be a S.C. candlestick being used by a rural sheriff.

It's probably the same phone prop they use in every scene.
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.

Even stranger, they show W.E. 151AL sets in several episodes. Trouble is, these same episodes take place in 1931/32. About 3 to 4 years before the 151 series even hit the streets in small numbers. Whoooops!

More Movie / TV Telephone Faux Pas...

Watching Apollo 13 here and noticed more than one 500 type phone with modular handset cords. Appolo 13 happened in April 1970 which seemed too early for modular cords so I decided to Google when modular cords were introduced. Patented in 1975 by Bell Telephone labs and began to appear in most WECo phones in 1976 is the answer to that question.

Any more phone related Faux Pas found in movies or television?

There's an episode of "The Professionals" which has Doyle attaching a sucker cup to the side of a GPO 332, not the handset, THE SIDE of the body  - yer like that would work!

It does (at least it does with a 782) - it picks up the signal from the induction coil rather than the receiver, which is a bit fainter, but it still works.
