Even greater, a Western Electric 333 that apparently works.  A few parts from the bin and hopefully it'll be all set.  Not sure why they blocked the transmitter hole and left the switch hook.

They could have wired in a handset and carefully used the old hook

The phone arrived today but I didn't realize it was in the box because I was too busy stripping wood phones out back, so I didn't do too much with it.  I could not resist seeing what was on the other side of the metal tag, though.  I was hoping the cover over the transmitter hole was something cool.  I was not disappointed.  Although it was covered in shellac and paint, it cleaned up nicely using Mirlon 1500 then 2500 grit, and some Novus 2.  These tags usually sell for about 2x what I paid for the phone.
