This interesting field trial set just sold on eBay (not to me)- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114648150253
It's a halfway house between a 706 and its successor the 746, and was apparently a trial of 10,000 units in the mid '60s - https://www.britishtelephones.com/t736.htm
The case is a 706 style but with the single rear fixing used on the 746 (standard 706 being fixed with two screws at the top).
It's a rare thing - the first I've seen for sale.

I did not even see this listing.

A field trial phone would be a nice addition to my collection.  :(

I only spotted it just before it finished.

I forget to add the eBay description - it was this:

Very rare 1965 GPO 736 Field Trial Ivory Telephone unconverted. Cupboard find this 1965 field trial Ivory telephone. This was one of 5000 Ivory telephones trialed in the North East of England going between the telephone 706 and telephone 746. This is in original condition with the circuit diagram still inside cover. I have replaced the handset cord as old was has a split in it but I am including it and spare handset. The only problem is the phone has discoloured in the sun at some time and one side is lighter than the other. I have tried to show this in the photos. The dial transmitter and receiver are all original. Dial spins as it should. Any questions I will try and answer.
