Don't know but the phone history, but Congrats!

Even if it is incomplete it is worth $50.00. You should submit it as a find of the Month.

I'm not a payphone expert by any stretch, but I do know that you made an excellent deal for the set at $50.00.    It's an old set, and it's had an upgrade with the addition of the 101 induction coil.
This forum has some very knowledgeable payphone collectors, and I'm sure one of them will give you a thorough explanation of what you have once they've had a chance to see your post.
Welcome to the forum, but be careful, telephone collecting can be habit forming.  ;D

Interesting find, do you have any photos of the whole phone from the front (and the rear) - pop a couple onto this thread?

Good price at $50. Looks like Phoneco might have built it.Upper housing has Dial shroud mounting holes plugged up.Coin chute is for a handset paystation-note coin signal transmitter not needed when the transmitter is mounted on the upper housing.Rec appears to be a British brass one with the hard rubber coating intact.Mouthpiece is the ones Phoneco sold.

Even with the modifications, $50 is a great deal. I paid $110 for a reproduction & thought it was a good deal.

I'd say you did very well for fifty bucks.
Congrats on a great find!
