New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

I've been watching this auction for a few days. It started high so I was on the fence about doing an auction contest. However, given what has been said about it in

http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=14271.0

and what seems to be happening, it might be fun for a fast and special auction. What's special? No gap. Just guess at least $50 away from prior guesses and lets see who wins this contest. That's about a 2% gap at the current price range.

Listed 4 days ago in a 7 day auction with no reserve and starting at a somewhat high $2,299.99 is this stunning Royal Blue AE40 telephone. The phone has attracted 2 bidders who over the first 4 days have increased the price to $3,400.00 with just under 3 days to go in the auction. That leaves two days for bidding, a short auction, but what may be an interesting contest.

Since the phone is already in the mid-ten range, instead of doing a gap percentage, we will do this contest asking that guesses be at least $50 apart from any prior guess.

So, once again, who best knows what this phone will sell for when the actions ends?

NOTE:  This is a short contest with only 2 days to get your vote in from the start of this contest.

The seller listed it as an "ROYAL BLUE AND CHROME AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC AE 40 TELEPHONE" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " with the auction listing description saying "AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC AE 40 MONOPHONE IN RARE ROYAL BLUE COLOR WITH CHROMIUM ACCENTS.  THIS TELEPHONE IS FRESH FROM A LONG TIME TELEPHONE COLLECTORS PERSONAL STASH.  DISPLAYS BEAUTIFULLY.  THE HOUSING OF THIS TELEPHONE IS NOT PAINTED, OR A REPRODUCTION, THIS IS A REAL ORIGINAL COLORED PLASTIC PHONE.  FREE FROM CHIPS OR CRACKS.  THERE ARE A FEW VERY MINOR MARKS FROM USE BUT NO DAMAGE OR REPAIRS EVER. THE HANDSET IS FREE FROM CHIPS OR CRACKS, HAS AN ORIGINAL EXTENSICORD INSTALLED. THE CHROME PLATING ON THE RECEIVER BANDS, FINGERWHEEL AND LIFT HANDLE IS ALL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. PLEASE SEE PICTURES FOR DETAILS."
