Another special auction contest just for the fun of it this blue 304 project phone. I have no idea of its value but it was listed June 14th ( thanks to a heads up PM from WEBellSystemChristian ) in a 7 day auction with a reserve. The starting price asked was $0.99 and within an hour it has jumped up to $148 by way of 2 bidders placing 3 bids. I'm sure their is an upside to the current bid but will it exceed the reserve. It may not sell but this auction will place a market value on the phone. This this contest is being set up to document this phone and its current market value for posterity. With that said, once again, who best knows what this will sell for when the auction ends. If the reserve is not met, the highest bid will be considered the current market value and the closest guesser to that value will be declared the winner.

Absolutely any and all members are very welcome and strongly encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

The seller listed it as a "Vintage 1950s Western Electric 302 rotary desk phone telephone rare BLUE NICE!" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " with the auction listing description as "

Here is a very nice original Western Electric model 302 rotary desk telephone from the early 1950s in the much sought-after blue. It is in very nice original condition with the original blue cords. The line cord has a slight fray where it enters the base. It has a few hairlines in the usual places that look more like scratches than cracks. There are no big cracks or chips. The phone displays well as is, but would really pop with a nice polish. The phone is in working condition as it was recently removed from service. I have done my best to describe the phone to the best of my ability, so please look at the photos carefully and email me if you have any questions. Due to its age it is being sold as-is. "

Since this is a "special rules" no winner contest, the best guesser will not be included in the CRPF Auction Contest Hall of Fame or be counted in the CRPF Contest Standings as a win. This one is just for fun. However, the winner will take a place in the Special Auction Contest Standings.

As with the other special auctions, just take a guess and I'll run the list of guesses to document this eBay auction item for posterity.

All I ask is that guesses be at least $25 dollars apart, one guess per player (can't revise a guess) and no guesses will be accepted with less than 12 hours to go in the auction -- special rules for a special contest . . .
  ;)
