It's funny you ask. I have a N500 Q3A in my pile of phones to put on ebay as part of my basement cleanup.

You should have a look later today or tomorrow.  its attached to a N515H. Not sure if that is the appropriate box but it is doubtless a common upgrade.

Well, although my first choice for the Northern Electric 500Q series phone was a 554Q3A, I did say that I would take anything from that series, and I did. I picked this up from our fellow member, sebbel - a 500Q3A. In this post, I will show the pictures before refurbishing. The next post will have the "after" pictures.

Wow! Great Job, that looks really nice.

I can never get my black phones perfect not showing the scratches, what is you secret if I may ask?

Thanks a lot, Ben. I appreciate that.

My secret?

1) Hand polishing with Novus #2 polish.
2) Careful photographic technique.  ;D

And now, to finally complete this phone, I found the proper magneto generator kit for it.

Congratulations, Bob! I knew you would find one eventually. Now you will have to find the wall version!

Nice refurb job!

As discussed in the past on the TCI list, I believe that Joel Eves and several other Canadian collectors have a stock-pile of the generators that came from Bruce Crawford's stash.

Thanks, G-Man!

I will keep this in mind should I need any more generators.

Especially impressive as the mag date matches the phone.  Well done!

OBS The 425Q1A Network seems to be rare, I have not found any documentation...yet.

There is quite a bit of documentation for it in the TCI Library.
