I am writing an article on dial refurbishment and I'd like to check if I have the correct terms:

1 shunt? switch?
2 drive wheel
3 pulse contacts
4 governor
5 cam

For some parts, it seem more than one term is used. Is there a difference in US English and UK English for these parts?

Arwin   ....   I've attached a 3 page "pdf" from an Automatic Electric dial repair manual written and printed in the U.S.A., and a single page from a Northern Electric T-6 Second Edition Catalog, which should give you an idea as to the names applied to each part in an A.E. dial, and the names of similar parts as described by Northern regarding one of their "N" series dials.
Hopefully I can attach both files,   But if I can't, I'll send the first followed by the second.      If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask.     .....  Jeff

Thanks very much, Jeff, That was what I was looking for.

Should have thought of checking maintainance manuals for the correct terms. :-)
