Well, sorry to bump this post. I noticed a little while ago that the transistors on touch tone dials are dated as well as a little metal strip that comes with the 44A varistors that seems to belong to the 44A itself? I got excited, of course.  ::) I never saw a date on the diffused silicon varistors; are they inherently more reliable than the copper oxide versions? I guess they could be considering that strange thing they had going on with only certain ore from that Chilean mine working.   ???

I had also needed to bring this thread up in another post and had therefore hoped that my intentions would look less obnoxious.   ;)
