These are pretty uncommon.  Still, with the fact that it is oak and missing the transmitter and receiver I thought it would go for a lot less.

Cool, a cyclops!  I can't help noticing that it's got 4 hinges.  Were these equipped with a heavy transmitter assembly, or was it strictly for electrical reasons?  If that subset is from your personal collection, is the single bell as pleasing to the ear as dual bell ringers?

I think it was mostly for electrical reasons, this configuration was also used on old #4 boxes that just had a plain door
