I've read through the manual and didn't see this mentioned. In a business setting you would definitely want to restrict your CO lines so that other extensions couldn't listen in uninvited.  However for a home and test bench environment, is there any way to tell the 616 to allow other extensions to join a CO line with an active call? For example, if extension 11 is on a call via CO1, could extension 12 be able to dial 9 or 81 and join in on the call on CO1?

Depending on your model, look for TAM (telephone answering machine) settings. This allows an extension to connect to a call that's been answered by a machine on another extension (on my system you dial <extension> [engaged tone] 4 to intrude) but I don't know offhand whether it conferences into the existing call, or disconnects the machine and transfers the call.

Otherwise extn 11 should be able to put the call on hold, call 12, and then setup a conference.
