You have a point there - obviously online services have full access to the ebay account, but locally installed tools also could pass on the information to someone else.
The Bid-o-Matic homepage now indicates that they will adress the problem, I'll give them a couple more days. The tool ran trouble free for years, except the occasion when my computer was on strike.
