We've discussed this before, This may very well be one of the FEW vintage phones that we can be sure is ORIGINAL.
Even at that we can't be sure.

On the side of the box it says DR what does that stand for ?

Dan, I believe the "D" is for dial and "R" for retractile (coiled cord) cord.  As seen here on Paul's site:

He writes that the R is not found on the phone itself but in catalogs and on the box.

I reckon some people out there just don't have anything better to do with their money.
I say, if there in that much a need to spend it they can let me spend some of it for them and I'll get at least 4 phones and save them $505.

Thanks Dennis, I thought for awhile we had a discrepancy in the phone and box, I thought the DR was like the CD designation.
