Not if it's hooked directly to line, the way they show it.  Given that little fact, I wonder how faint the sound coming from the receiver is at this point.

The restoration "leaves a little to be desired" as they say.  The authentic material looks like the felt that they sell on eBay as NOS, which is not the real felted wool (I know because I got snookered).  And that's a flat black modular cord coming out the back.  ANd the 164A dial plate.  The curly cord is a disaster.  The different parts of the E-1 have different levels of shine.  I would hazard a guess that it isn't a #4 dial.  I bet if I put the B-1 of mine up with a converted 4H, curly cord, 684A, base expertly re-sueded by Dennis H, and Oldphoneworks line and subset cords it wouldn't top $200.
