Clear AE fingerwheel wont come off

I feel like Ive asked this before but I cant find it now with search.

How do you get the plastic fingerwheel off this model?  The hole isnt in the usual 9 position, but up around 6.  And when I stick a pin in there it doesnt seem to actually unlatch anything once Ive turned it in the dial.  

Remind me how these suckers work, please!! Thnx

Put your finger in the zero hole and rotate the finger wheel all the way until it won't turn any further. Keeping a slight pressure on the finger wheel (trying to turn it even further past the stop) put a paper clip in the hole trying to push a little tab towards the centre of the dial. When you catch it and move it slightly inwards the finger wheel will rotate a little further releasing it from the dial.
