Title: NE 8A Dial - Spinning too fast
Post by: finkmac on December 25, 2017, 12:39:23 PM
I'm working on a Northern Electric princess set.
Initially, the dial was gummed up, so I cleaned the gears (not the governor) and then applied a tiny amount of oil to the tops of the gears.
It started spinning freely... but much too fast.
What can I do here? I'd prefer to try and fix it myself.

8A dial of course. According to the BSPs the speed is unadjustable.

Yes, I took the dial apart the most I could.. which wasn't very far. Only things I could remove were the plastic translucent bits (numbers, fingerwheel) and the contacts.
