I have a (1951) Bell South made by Western Electric model# F1 phone, plus a (1945) Northern Electric model#1. They both have three wires. I have a dial tone & can call out. However, when there's a incoming call the ringers don't ring, but, if I pick up the phone there's a person on the line. I have Comcast phone service, I don't know if that makes a difference. Very strange, both do the same thing. HELP! Thank you. Buddy

One side of the ringer is probably connected to the third wire which is the ground wire, it is usually yellow. Try connecting yellow with the green wire and see if it will ring, if that doesn't work try connecting the yellow wire with the red wire,  Also check inside to see if the ringer is even connected.  There are some models of the 302 (F1) That are wired for special partyline services and simply connecting wires together might not work.
BTW Western Electric 302s and Northern Electric Model 1 Uniphones are basically the same in their wiring configuration.
