Hello everyone, Daniel here.
I'm interested purchasing my first American phone here, since I don't want to spend a fortune in shipping, I'm looking to buy it here inside my country.
It's from a local shopping website.

----------------------

Title (translated to English.):
"Telephone BELL SYSTEM by Western Electric years 70 80 Vintage rotary no Sip"

----------------------

Description, again translated:
Here's a pretty cool telephone BELL SYSTEM tested on Telecom landline.

Sadly, you can call but it doesn't ring. The handset has a crack.

COLOR

Beige-Rose

The telephone was made with a tri-polar plug, but on request, for 5€ it can be changed into a modern plug.

----------------------

The price is 20€, which is more or less 23$.

It doesn't ring, maybe because in Italy we have a different voltages, I don't know. I also saw another American phone on sale which had the same problem.

The thing that I'm worried, is the crack on the handset...

I have no idea if it's worthy to buy, what's your opinion on this?

The ringing issue is probably the wiring. It was set up for grounded ringing originally. Probably moving 1 wire will fix that. The crack is another issue. If you are willing to put in the work it could be repaired. I would not pay that much for a damaged 500 but they are much more plentiful over here. JMO

Yes. I'm not really an expert at fixing plastics, but I think this will be the only time such phone will appear around me.

What do you figure it will cost to ship a WE-500 phone from the U.S. to Italy ?

Only a guess but maybe in the region of $60 ish?

Meanwhile... I've spotted a Black !!!  rotary WE Trimline for sale in Italy on fleabay if that is of any interest. I know almost nothing about Trimlines - apart from black is a harder colour to find?

Listing price is for two, seller says one left.
Listing number : 223116224765

I'm on an iPad so haven't a clue how to get a screen shot or better pics, hope these are ok:
