change AE DTMF pad for ATC DTMF pad in Snoopy

I have an ATC Snoopy phone with AE guts. I have managed to get the AE keypad up to 99% working , but it is badly discolored. I always had issues with AE DTMF pads anyway.

It seems the mounting in the ATC is not wide enough to install a WE type DTMF pad as the mounting on AE pad is narrower.

I found this ATC pad that I bought all the way from Poland and have not received yet.

The mounting looks more like the AE mounting but then again I could be wrong. Wont be sure till I get it. It will however make my Snoopy less of a frankenphone than the WE keypad.

I looked at some diagrams online and my ATC Snoopy seems to conform to this: http://www.telephonecollectors.info/index.php/browse/wiring-diagrams/atc/doc_download/1833-mickey-mouse-and-snoopy-telephone-micsnoo3-tl

the wiring color on the new ATC dial seems to conform (mostly) to this diagram. http://www.telephonecollectors.info/index.php/browse/wiring-diagrams/atc/doc_download/1831-mickey-mouse-and-snoopy-telephone-micsnoo1-tl

as I understand it, most DTMF pads really only need to be connected to the line to work, and secondary is the connection to attenuate the DTMF tones . I am trying to isolate if that is the case here or how I might get this ATC DTMF installed into the Snoopy with AE guts.

sounded easy enough but gets confusing and I do not want to fry a new DTMF pad.

Thanks

Mark
