Newly listed. Center plunger seems to need help. Coiled handset cord  but slotted transmitter cap. Interesting ringer. What is this? And what will it go for?

An AE 31 I believe. It is like an AE 11A with the added base. The 11A is the Inductor Receiver handset version of the AE 1A which means it would normally have been used on a PBX or an Intercom system of some sort. In this case this is at least partially supported by the non Metropolitan Dial (number only).

I'm sort of vague on the AE 31 vs AE 32 but at the moment I feel as though the 31 is a 1A with a buzzer in the base and Inductor Receiver Handset where the 32 is a 1A with Inductor in the base and a conventional handset.

Can one of the AE guys confirm or deny that?
