I recently acquired this Stenographers notebook Dated by the Stenographer as 9-13-1928
The writing is barely legible.
Is there a way to enhance and preserve the writing.
It appears to say Cara F, Deern, or Durn.

Yes, there are documnet restoration and preservation people out there but it is very expensive! It is also very detailed, I started to read a paper on it once and could not get through more than a few pages!

Sometimes photographing the document in different types of light will bring out unseen details.  Try photographing it in infrared light,  like that used in some camcorders.  I'm also involved with astronomy and applying different filers, (red, blue and polarized) will bring out unseen clouds in Mars and Jupiter.  Maybe some photographic filters will bring out the details you are seeking.
