Very rare indeed, so I was happy to get my hands on this one. In good condition, but there are some hair line cracks because of degradation of the material. Also those stains won't come out.

Needs new cords, but that is not a problem.

Regardless, I am very happy with it. Asking price was 22 euros. I did not haggle. :-)

Very nice addition to my collection of these Antwerp phones!

congrats arwin, a very nice addition to your collection.
what age is the phone, and is that a gpo 10 dial?
have you tried bleach or peroxide on the stains?

Thanks very much, David.

The model is from the late 30s (1936) but this one was made in 1952. I did not expect that, by the way. BTMC had by this time a newer model in their product range.

The dial is similar to the type 10. But it is a 7019 model from BTMC. Same as on those Belgian kettle phones.

I will give it a peroxide soak, but I have been told by others that that does not effect those brown stains.

This browning of Ureoformaldehyde is irreversible, as far as I could find. I am open for suggestions and ideas on that matter.

That material is probably about the same as plaskon.  I have a few discolored or spotted plaskon items, and I have found no way to remove the spots or discoloration.  I tried all sorts of things.  Heavy sanding might be the only option.

Just for fun, here are a few pictures of my Argentinian ENTel version of this model.  I have not noticed any dates on it, but I would guess late 1950s or early 60s.

Thanks Larry, I have heard spray painting too. I am going to leave the brown spots as is, for now.

That is a terrific specimen you have there!
