Last of what we found at the Market today.

This appears to be from 1966 from what I can see.  Five wires coming out of the line cord - how would I wire a normal modular cord to this phone?

Looks like it has a lit dial but the bulb is burned out or, when I hard wired to a box I got something wrong.  It rang - but rang erratically - again I suspect how I wired it to the box.

I have taken 8 pictures and so will put 2 up in a follow on post to this topic.

Any information anyone could provide would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Ralph

As I mentioned above

The black and white wires are for the dial lamp. They need to be connected to a 6-8 Volt Transformer or a 6 Volt Battery.

The red, green and yellow are like the 500: green and yellow connect to one side of the line, and red to the other; or, if the black ringer wire is connected to L1 inside the phone, then you don't need the yellow wire.

If you were using a new  modular to spade tip cord, then you would make sure the black ringer wire is on L1 (not G) inside the phone, and connect the cord as follows: green to L1, red to L2, and black and yellow to replace the current black and white line cord wires (Terminals 3 and 4 inside if it's the same as a WE 702).

very much appreciated.

I will be using the modular to spade tip cord.

It's all wired up and working now.

Even the light bulb still works (tested it last night with a 6 v battery)

all that's left is to clean the shell.

again, thanks
