500 Green  1951 is the number on the underside ( I  haven't ) opened it up yet.

500 Brown  underside # is QSQM 80

Odd one (not a 500) QSQM 440. Which I no nothing about  83.

Never met a phone I didn't like !

Nice finds, congratulations!!

Do you have a picture of the base on the '51? A valuable phone could be hiding under those later plastics. Could the '51' be a stamp for -51 (WE color code for green)?

The 440 sure is different.  I don't think I've seen one quite like it before.  The dial makes me think it may have been made by Western Electric (at&t).  The configuration of the dial is right for that particular make.

The 440 is a Northern Telecom 'Dawn' phone.  See Imagination Telephones by Northern Telecom on paul-f's site.

Regarding my green 500 ......  the 51 must refer to the color , because the numbers inside seem to be  9-75-B111   11/70/B  Ringer: C4A 1658

Handset Nos are , trans  2-63 7C9    Rec 2-5-73   9-61

I am a little confused !    Too many numbers !!!    ???
Never met a phone I didn't like !

It looks like a 1975 500. Someone probably stamped '51' or '-51' on the base, to signify that it's a green phone. It also has some 1960s dates, which I'm not surprised about,
