What dial for a B1 base?

Many thanks to all. This was more help than I anticipated, and I am grateful. To wind up this saga, I went back to the original post and added a photo of the inside, as suggested, as well as some text comments. As (and if) the restoration progresses, I will post results here.

By the way, that tip-and-ring plug is labelled "Stromberg-Carlson No. 60". To me, it looks more like an earphone plug for an old radio than a telephone plug.

If you plan on using the phone, you can easily convert it to a dial phone, but you will also need a subset.
