I saw this on BIN listing on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380289738240) a couple of days ago, and I couldn't resist.  It is a #4 WE dial, converted from a #2.  The original finger stop screw holes are still open.  The back of the dial is stamped with a date of III 31.  The dial plate shows a date of II 37, and it is celluloid.  The celluloid is mostly in good condition, but there is a nasty tear about 3/4" long through the '1', as you can see in the picture below, and a couple of other small peeling spots.  I would like to do something to the surface to keep the celluloid surface from peeling any further.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I could try a bit of super glue or perhaps some clear nail polish.

Thank you

Larry

How about some clear polyurethane spray on it?
