good evening everyone;
I recently have found an interest in rotary phones while browsing some second hand shops with my wife; I stumbled across the thread here about restoring a WE500 handset and it sounded like a fun way to learn more about how these work , I've been keeping an eye out for one that appeals to me.
I had the good fortune of finding an older handset that I'm pretty sure is a model AE40, it's in wonderful shape; once I'm a bit more familiar with phones I hope to clean it up and make it the founding phone of my new collection :D

Welcome to the forum. You have found the best forum on the net. There is a plethora of knowledgeable people here that love to help. Now a warning. Poneitis is a progressive, incurable disease. Everyone here has it. The only thing that can be done is get more! On your handset, 40 is an Automatic Electric phone model number, not a handset. The model 40 can have seberal handsets. We love pictures. Lots of pictures will help identify your handset. Again, Welcome.
