Identify Handset

What kind of a handset is this?

The yellow arrow points at 45 in a circle, this looks molded.

The red one points at a number 2285C, this looks kind of fine stamp into the surface of the bakelite.

The transmitter cap is fixed by 3 screws.

I think is is  a Bell Telephone Mfg Belgium handset. Similar to the French 1924 cradle set or the prototype for what became the E1

Yes, definitely BTMC. Most BTMC items had a 4 digit numberfollowed with a letter. Most if not all numbers started with 28. Some say this meant 'made in Antwerp.'
