New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed about 3 days ago in a 7 day auction with no reserve starting at $50.00 is a very nice Gray Pay Station with keys along with an equally nice nickle plated WE Candlestick AND and OST receiver to top it all off. The seller provided a good array of photos and within the first day of being listed, the item attracted 7 buyers placing 8 bids driving the price up to $331.00. Quite a first day but the price has remained at $331 since then. Seems this phone is now in its dormant, pre-snipe activity period so the only question is what will those final 10 seconds do to the selling price? I'm sure it will go higher than $331, so, who best knows what this item will sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE: we will use a $5 gap rule between guesses again to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $5 away from prior guesses for this contest.

The seller listed it as an "Rare & Beautiful Gray Pay Station with Western Electric Candlestick telephone" with the item condition as "used" and " - - - " and with the auction listing description saying simply "Has rare Large perch nut. OST receive rmarked (Western Electric Co. 70) on top. Front and rear transmitter Beautifully marker with makers name, Station rings diffrent tones when coins inserted. original direction label . Original locks, original front key, back key is a replacement. Both locks work great."

And the winner of Auction Contest #225 is HarrySmith who with the 3rd entry into the contest offered the winning guess of $750.00 to give him his 7th auction contest win. So, a big congratulations go out to HarrySmith for another win in the CRPF Auction Contests and for moving up another rung in the Contest Standings.

In this auction, the winning bid was placed by n***u ( 1140 ), with his first and only bid being the one and only last second snipe placed 5 seconds before the auction ended. During the last day of the auction, 5 other bids were placed increasing the price from $400, where it sat for days, to $750 until that last second snipe was placed and was sufficient to take the phone home for $760.00. The phone was listed at $50.00 and over 7 days, it attracted 13 bidders placing 16 bids.

Thanks again to all who played. As always, there is only one way to get on the winner's board or move up a rung - you have to play to win.
