I was emphasizing the "understanding wife" part. She must not be that understanding if she made him put it on eBay.

How do you know that she is understanding?  Perhaps she is the one who is selling the sign (because the husband didn't mount it in the basement).

My guess, as I have done it, a picture was removed and the sign attached to the screw that was mounting the picture. Pic was taken of the sign and the picture was back up.....Doug

That looks like what happened. In looking at the pictures I can see the sign is being held in place by only one nail.
